Usage
Use this rcat template in any namespace, except for typos in template space.
- Use this redirect category (rcat) template on a redirect in the following manner:
- Example: the mainspace article redirect Antony van Leeuwenhook may be tagged:
#REDIRECT Antonie van Leeuwenhoek R from misspelling R from move
- Template Rcat shell is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redairect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT Antonie van Leeuwenhoek R from misspelling
- This template takes a parameter, either unnamed (
|1=
) or named (|of=
) that may be used to provide the correct spelling when it is not the same as the target page's title – for example when an alternate name for the article has been misspelled. Supply the correct name as the first parameter in any of the following ways:

- or the
|1=
may be omitted:

- with the
|of=
parameter:

- and when used individually:
(correct spelling) or
- Example: the misspelled redirect Babtist employs:
#REDIRECT Baptists R from misspelling R from move
- This rcat populates Category:Redirects from misspellings by default.
- This rcat may be used to tag redirects from homoglyphs and homographs when they have been created in error or specifically made available as search terms.
