Furuya Tooru (古谷徹, July 31, 1953 - ) is a Japanese voice actor (seiyuu), narrator, and actor born in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. He is currently affiliated with Aoni Production.
He is best known for the roles of Amuro Ray (Kidou Senshi Gundam), Hoshi Hyuuma (Kyojin no Hoshi) Pegasus no Seiya (Saint Seiya), Yamucha (Dragon Ball), Kasuga Kyousuke (Kimagure Orange Road) and Chiba Mamoru (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon).
He also used the pseudonym Sougetsu Noboru when playing the part of Ribbons Almark (Kidou Senshi Gundam 00), though he used his real name for the narrator's part. Those are his first roles in a Gundam series after the originals; Ikeda Shuuichi, who played Char Aznable, had already returned to the franchise with Gilbert Durandal (Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Destiny).
He was at one time married to fellow seiyuu Koyama Mami, but they amicably divorced in 1983. He later married former seiyuu Majima Satomi.
Due to a scandal revealed on May 22, 2024 he has vacated most if not all of the roles he has been currently playing, such as Amuro Toru in Dectective Conan, Sabo in One Piece, and Yamucha in the Dragon Ball series.
