He wanted to be a seiyuu when he watched "Mobile Suit Victory Gundam." He was a part of the seiyuu unit "G.I.zoku" with Taniyama Kishou and Tasaka Hideko.
Being the same age as fellow seiyuu Kondo Takayuki, Hino Satoshi, Ono Daisuke, Tachibana Shinnosuke, Fukuyama Jun, and Majima Junji, they created a unit called “Project DABA” (the letter “D” is written inverted). His nickname in DABA is “Hachimitsu.”
