Notice
This rcat does not protect redirects. It will only categorize redirects that have already been protected by administrators.

Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.

  • This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Fully protected redirects by default.
  • If an administrator has fully protected the redirect, then template {{Redirect category shell}} (Rcat shell) can be used to add one or more rcats to the redirect and will automatically sort the redirect to the Category:Fully protected redirects category. The Rcat shell detects protection levels automatically, so by default it will add this rcat to a redirect when it is first protected and then automatically remove it from the redirect if and when protection is lifted. See the Rcat shell's template documentation for details.
  • If the redirect has been added to the Cascade-protected list and has not been fully protected by an administrator, then this rcat will not be applied automatically by the Rcat shell and will have to be added manually. In this case, when the Rcat shell is used, apply this rcat to the top of the list as follows:
#REDIRECT [[target page name]]

{{Rcat shell|
{{R fully protected}}
{{2nd rcat}}
{{3rd rcat}}
{{and so on}}
}}
  • If used without the Rcat shell, then add this rcat to a redirect as follows:
#REDIRECT [[target page name]]

{{R fully protected}}
{{2nd rcat}}
{{3rd rcat}}
{{and so on}}
  • This rcat is used to categorize fully protected redirects. Adding this rcat and populating the Fully protected redirects category does not in and of itself protect the redirect. Page protection can only be engaged by administrators.
