When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:

The correct form is given by the target of the redirect. This redirect is made available to aid searches. Pages that use this link should be updated to link directly to the target without the use of a piped link that hides the correct details. When appropriate, protection levels are automatically sensed, described and categorized.

When used by itself:

Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace, except for typos in template space.

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redairect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

• This template takes a parameter, either unnamed (|1=) or named (|of=) that may be used to provide the correct spelling when it is not the same as the target page's title – for example when an alternate name for the article has been misspelled. Supply the correct name as the first parameter in any of the following ways:

• This rcat may be used to tag redirects from homoglyphs and homographs when they have been created in error or specifically made available as search terms.
